On August 8, 2023, wildfires destroyed Lahaina town on the island of Maui. Residents abandoned their vehicles and fled to the ocean off the shores of Front Street, a prime visitor destination. The fires left the historic town in ashes and brought many struggles for its residents. Learn more here.

A long road to recovery is ahead for the all of Maui, and especially those who called Lahaina home.
